Printer locations
If you don’t run into trouble while attempting to print out an essay due in 5 minutes while sprinting to class within your first month, count yourself among the lucky few. Many students, from first-years to fourth years, do not know where they can print their assignments. Lots of people congregate at the library printers, but a working knowledge of all of the locations will save you in a pinch. There are a few different areas with printers spread all around campus. This includes two in the library on the second floor of the Danielle Ripich Commons (over the wonky bridge). There is also one on the first floor of the Commons, along the wall by the Firehouse Grill (or pub or whatever). The Harold Alfond Forum contains one on the second floor near the classrooms, up the stairs, and to the right. There is also a printer in Decary Hall, on the second floor within the computer lab. Note that there is not a printer in Marcil available to students, but a personal relationship with the right professor may give you an opportunity to print something if they allow it. So make friends where you can.
Campus events
The UNE campus has many opportunities that give students the chance to play games, study, or talk with others. For instance, the Activities Programming Board hosts a Bingo night a few times a year. Students can win small but useful prizes like condoms and blankets, or expensive ones like TVs and gaming consoles. If you’re broke like many students but want to own nice things, having fun at Bingo might get you something interesting. Something more related to school is the frequent study sessions for people in a specific class or major. On the second-floor study section of the Commons, there is a room in the back that holds study groups for major classes like Mathematics or Med-Bio. Students can study with their classmates and student mentors to better understand the material in classes that many people struggle with, so I would recommend seeing what study groups are available for your major.
Navigate App
The Navigate App is an app that was developed with the Educational Advisory Board and it’s a resource we have at UNE that you can download from the app store. It’s there to assist you with your everyday routine and make college life a little easier. On the app you’re able to schedule appointments with advisors and professors, keep track of important dates, identifying holds on your account, and more. Not only does it assist with housekeeping things like those mentioned, but it also keeps track of your academics. The app provides you with details regarding your academic progress and performance so that you don’t have to worry about only depending on UOnline and Bright space.

Campus center
The Campus Center is building number 19 on the campus map. This is a rather resourceful building to know because you can get a few things out of here. Such as work-study jobs because students are the ones running it behind all the faculty and staff that are there. This is also the place where you can rent movies, work out, play sports in a gym, and attend Activities Programming Board (APB) showcases all of which can aid in maintaining good mental health and explore new opportunities. The outdoor recreation program is also posted within the Campus Center which provides students the materials they would need to go hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, snowshoeing, rock climbing, and more. The campus bookstore is also within the Campus Center. Here you can get UNE and St. Francis Alumni merchandise, textbooks, school supplies, and a small assortment of snacks. The individuals to contact within this building start with Bob Eagle because he is the head director of the campus center. Then from there, it trickles down throughout the areas of the Campus Center. In terms of getting to the campus center, one can get there from all directions as it’s on the main road of campus.
Security and the mailroom
The Office of Facilities Management/ Safety and Security (Building #30 on the map) is a good place to know for a few reasons. Not only can you call security (human resources) but you are able to go to the offices when you need help in times of snow events, flat tire, locked out of/in (my own experience of being locked in my room because the door swelled) your room, providing transportation when you are injured, and can help provide aid in serious situations (attacked, hurt, worried, intruder, and more). This is also the place where you will go if you lose your key or something happens to your ID card. On the backside of this building is the Mailroom where you can go to receive a package that has not been delivered to the residential mailrooms yet or your mail key for the mailrooms in either East, Avila, or Soko. Now to get to the office of Safety and Security if you are coming from the Forum it will be on the way over to the Campus Center or Commons and vice versa if you were coming from the latter area. It is directly off of Pool St. across the street from the Forum, next to the residential parking lots 30 and 22.
