Project 3
- As for reaching out and advertising this product to be used in an institution, what kinds of administrative/general individuals would be present for the original “selling” of the handbook?
- While presenting this to first year students, will the coordinator be actively looking for feedback or ways that will improve the handbook?
- Is there a specific plan for the expansion of selling the handbook to other institutions? Are any specific universities on the radar that the company would target first as their next consumer?
When I was a junior in high school, I did an internship with the University of Maine Engineering Department. It was a yearlong internship that took place in on the campus, as well as in my own town. The internship was to measure E. coli and coliform levels throughout water sources. The beginning of the internship was a training session where we learned how to do water testing and collect samples. The second part of the internship involved going to our hometowns and testing water sources and developing a presentation of our findings as well as solutions. We presented this information to the coordinators of the internship who are also UMaine faculty and staff.
I worked in a restaurant for a good portion of my high school and college career. This job helped me grow immensely over the years due to its positive environment. After working there for only about a year, at the age of 17 I was asked to be a supervisor. This opportunity gave me so much room to grow as a person. I developed so much confidence and trust in my capabilities. It gave me leadership and communication skills that will be forever useful for me in my future endeavors.
- What was appealing to you about this position? What strengths do you think you have that are most valuable to this position?
- What is your experience with college campuses as well as college students, professors, faculty, administration, etc?
- In your opinion, what do you think the most important piece of information that should be included in this handbook? (i.e., advice, tips and tricks, campus information, etc.)
