My name is Logan Barstow and I am a senior at UNE and will be graduating Spring of 2022. I am studying Marine Affairs and minoring in Communications and hope to eventually go to graduate school for Environmental Policy and Law. Before that I would like to gain some teaching experience relating to climate change and the environment. I’m currently in the aquaponics club at UNE and I work at a daycare!

I hope that first year students realize that they aren’t alone when they’re reading this handbook. You aren’t the only one dealing with the stressors that college brings. Mental health is such an important part of being successful and we hope this guide serves as a reminder to take care of yourself. This guide serves as more than just a first year guide, it will assist you throughout all of your years at UNE. It will help you develop skills like using the resources that are available to you. Hearing first hand from staff and students about UNE and how to navigate the campus is meant to bring comfort and hopefully some familiarity. College is a big transition for everyone and this guide is something you can count on for first hand advice and experiences!
